The Balmain Army rallies together once again to conquer Paris Fashion Week, descending on the very opulent Garnier’s Opera House. The inspiration for the show and the collection derived from Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing’s visit to the parisian ballet when he was younger! Rousteing says it’s a dream come true to design for the ballet and showcase his collection in such a historic, iconic location.
The collection itself is probably Balmain’s most fashion-forward yet, featuring a handful of see-through, clear PVC skirts, coats and booties. The designer has managed to make the looks simultaneously dressy and effortless, with power suits and form-fitting dresses adorned with sequins and fringy details. While this is a fresh new fashion-forward look for the fashion house, the collection does stay true to it’s signature ‘Balmain’ style. As always, the Balmain Army featured a heavenly host of supermodels. To walk for Balmain is a top privilege for any model so the only the best of the best walked down the runway. Below are some of the looks worn by the industry’s top models, Including a few comebacks from models Karolina Kurkova and Magdalena Frackowiak who have been absent from fashion weeks for quite some time.
WHAT A COLLECTION! Jeremy Scott WOW’s us once again at Milan Fashion Week! Biker ballerinas were Scott’s story on the runway: leather jackets, satin bustiers, tulle tutus, and fishnets in a couple dozen variations, with some DIY tees thrown into the mix. The show featured a bevy of top models including Kaia Gerber, Bella Hadid, Gigi Hadid, Grace Elizabeth, Taylor Hill, Joan Smalls, Elsa Hosk and Mayowa Nicholas.
He certainly didn’t fail to put smiles on people’s faces, especially with a surprise finale section of dresses that recast his models not as butch femmes and tough chicks, but as flowers.
Another fun vibrant collection that went down in true Jeremy Scott style! View the whole show below!
Raf Simons returns with another incredible ready-to-wear collection for Clavin Klein, “American horror, American dreams,” Simons elaborated. Film and TV being the major inspiration for this collection!
Having just hit the age minimum (16!) to walk the runway at New York Fashion Week, fashion’s newest It-girl, Kaia Gerber made her catwalk debut during Raf Simon’s spring/summer ’18 show for Calvin Klein. Despite her age, Kaia looked calm and confident gracing the catwalk for the first time, successfully carrying on the legacy of her supermodel mother, Cindy Crawford.
And just like that … it’s NEW YORK FASHION WEEK! We’re back baby! Tom Ford knows how to make an entrance. At his return to New York Fashion Week, the designer transformed the Park Avenue Armory into a luxurious space to showcase his glamorous, sharp, and sexy Spring 2018 collection. There was a star studded front row of celebrities and models among the likes of Kim Kardashian, Doutzen Kroes, Cindy Crawford, Gwendoline Christie, Naomi Campbell and Cardi B.
Binx Walton gave the all important first AND last impression … The American model got the top honour of both opening and closing Tom Ford’s show this season. At the start, she emerged to the tune of David Bowie’s “Fame” in a golden shorts-suit with a chain mail top and pink stilettos, and she closed the show in a languid gown with sequin sleeves.
The clear feel of the collection was return to glamour, meets the 90’s. Ford’s jackets were confident, expertly cut and paired with a plunge-front or backless jumpsuits. This season recaptured 90’s glam with the hip-flashing maillots he paired with low-slung pants. Cut-out jersey column dress and crystalized T-shirts stood out to me in the collection. There was day-wear and evening-wear, making it a very versatile collection. Check out some of the looks below!!
We all know the spectacle that is the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, the annual runway extravaganza that is like no other fashion show in the world! But did you know the annual lingerie show is not the only show-stopper Victoria’s Secret films each year? They also film their annual holiday commercial! The holiday commercial showcases the ‘Holiday Lingerie Collection’ and the Angels of course!
Each year the Victoria’s Secret Holiday commercial is filmed in incredible locations all over the world among the likes of Venice, Prague, Chicago, Rome, Paris and London! This year, the Angels descended on Aspen, in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, to shoot their Western-themed campaign at a whopping $80 million ranch over the weekend, including: Candice Swanepoel, Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, Jasmine Tookes, Lily Aldridge, Lais Ribeiro, Taylor Hill, Josephine Skriver, Martha Hunt, Sara Sampaio and Stella Maxwell. The commercial is to be filmed by legendary Hollywood director Michael Bay.
It takes a village to put together a production quite like this, around 200 people to be exact! The commercial would not be possible without the efforts of directors, photographers, stylists, hair and makeup artists, creative directors and many more! In this years filming location, there were cabins set against mountain ranges. There were log fires. There were horses. There were husky pups. There were cowboy hats. And boots. And belts. There were assless chaps (lots of them).
VS head honcho Ed Razek made reference to the sheer scale of the special shoot in a photo he posted to Instagram, captioning it: “13 Angels, 2 photographers, a crew of 100+, one big time director, and an $80 million ranch – no one does Holiday like Victoria’s Secret does Holiday!”
With the holiday commercial done and dusted, the next big project for Victoria’s Secret to unveil is it’s annual fashion show! The creative team has been at work all year bringing the outfits and themes together! Castings and fittings are taking place this coming month ahead of the extravaganza that is rumoured to take place in Shanghai, China towards the end of the year!

Thick tweeds and a mostly dark palette; controlled compositions of feathers adorning sleeves and hems. Every look was topped off with a boater hat. Karl Lagerfeld is bringing the early 20th century hat back. The accessory was presented in a variety of tweeds, satin and leather.
Every model’s look featured an over-the-top rainbow eyeshadow, a bright and welcome contrast to the dark-hued collection. Which tied in nicely with the darker bold colour of the garments.
