Soo Joo Park

This beauty hardly needs an introduction. She has dominated the catwalks, and appeared in every major magazine from ELLE to W Magazine and of course, Vogue. The fashion spotlight has certainly had its’ focus on Soo Joo Park.

Soo Joo Park (28) is a well-known model who made her modelling debut back in 2013. Soo Joo was born in Seoul, South Korea, and grew up there until she was 10. Her family then moved to California. Interestingly, modelling was an accidental career for Park. She studied architecture and shortly after graduating, was scouted to start modelling. Living in San Francisco, she had a full-time job doing graphic design for a start-up web company. One fateful weekend, she was shopping in a vintage store and was discovered, being asked if she was interested in modelling, her answer: sure, why not?

Soo Joo’s career took off after she met renowned stylist Carine Roitfeld and shot her for her CR Fashion Book. She was then recommended to designers among the likes of Karl Lagerfeld and Tom Ford. After her encounter with Lagerfeld, it wasn’t long before she was walking the Chanel Spring 2013 Haute Couture show at the Grand Palais in Paris. It proved to be the turning point in her career as she walked for everyone from Fendi to Lanvin since.

In an interview, Park discussed how she doesn’t see herself as an Asian model and that part of the reason she bleached her hair was so that wouldn’t be type-casted as an Asian model by the industry or designers. She is still an unmistakeable presence in the fashion industry and will continue to be with her eclectic personality. Soo Joo has a cool, 80’s, rebellious style and a VERY addictive Instagram feed! Moschino Resort 2018 Collection

Moschino brings Sin City to L.A.

Jeremy Scott has WOWED the fashion world again with another SPECTACULAR collection! Last night’s Moschino show in Hollywood was inspired by L.A. and Las Vegas, two cities for dreamers, two cities FULL of inspiration. His collection was presented as an idea of a road trip from L.A. to Las Vegas.

For his Moschino resort 2018 and men’s spring 2018 collections, Jeremy Scott went on a Wild West road trip to celebrate symbols of Americana. Scott showcased these ‘Americana’ references throughout the collection with the use of bold colours and very eclectic clothing items. Biker Jackets, Sheer dresses, double denim, leotards, fringe, flame prints topped off with cowboy hats all while staying true to Jeremy Scott’s signature style. There was plenty of patchwork denim, mixed with sweet lace and florals. There were spangled satin bodysuits as well as bright bustier tops paired with embellished boyfriend jeans

Every piece is an impactful piece which brings out the inner child in all of us! In full Jeremy Scott style, this show was a spectacular that meets halfway between art and humour.

Front row attendees included Sarah Hyland, Vanessa Hudgens, Kate Beckinsale, Fergie and Joe Jonas!

NYFW: Jeremy Scott A/W 2017

Take a look at Jeremy Scott’s NYFW AW17 Collection! It’s sure to bring out your inner child!

It’s that time of year again where designers and models alike endure in a crazy week of absolute fashion madness otherwise known as New York Fashion Week (NYFW for short). What is NYFW you may ask? NYFW is a semi-annual series of events that take place in February and September of each year where international fashion designers showcase their collections to the public, press and most importantly the buyers! NYFW is one of four major fashion weeks in the world, alongside London, Milan and Paris.

I’d like to start my series of NYFW blogs with one of my favourite designers, Jeremy Scott. He is an American designer and the creative director of the fashion house ‘Moschino’. His collections are always very colourful and eclectic and he is known as fashion’s equivalent of Andy Warhol! Every piece he makes is an impactful piece which I feel most times tends to bring out the inner child in all of us! This A/W (Autumn/Winter) ready to wear collection features lots of bright reds, pinks, purples and blues and well as lots of gold embellishments. The collections gives off somewhat of a 70’s meets cartoon world paying tribute to American culture. Feather trimmed jackets and velvet suits are a common theme throughout the show as well as embroidered leather jackets, slip dresses, t-shirts and very sparkly shoes. Artistic direction is evident throughout the collection with various headpieces incorporated into the collection as well as custom Jeremy Scott old-fashioned lunch boxes. In full Jeremy Scott style, this show is a spectacular that meets halfway between art and humour. Provided below is a link to the full show!
